Scientists from the Trisomy 21 Research Society visit the Pasqual Maragall Foundation

The Pasqual Maragall Foundation received on June 5th the visit of 12 researchers from the Trisomy 21 Research Society (T21RS). This international scientific organization of researchers specializing in Down syndrome held from June 6th to 9th the T21RS International Conference 2019 at the CosmoCaixa in Barcelona, ​​a global convention where the latest discoveries and therapeutic advances linked to this genetic disorder are shared.

Within the framework of this event, several members of the T21RS took a tour to discover the Biomedical Research Park of Barcelona (PRBB) and two of the centers that integrate it – the Center for Genomic Regulation and the European Molecular Biology Laboratory-, as well as the Barcelonaβeta Brain Research Center, the research center of the Pasqual Maragall Foundation.

The assistants were able to get to know some of the spaces where BBRC develops its biomedical research in order to prevent Alzheimer’s, such as the magnetic resonance room or the extractions room. Meanwhile, they received the explanations from BBRC researchers Juan Domingo Gispert, Carles Falcón and Gemma Salvadó.
