Five German Marshall Fund fellows visit the Pasqual Maragall Foundation
The youngsters learned about our scientific and social programs during their trip to Barcelona
On March 27h, the Pasqual Maragall Foundation welcomed five preeminent American youngsters, members of the fellowship program of the German Marshall Fund of the United States. Alex Cleghorn, Meshea Poore, Damien Salamone, Melanie A. Shakarian and Brian Segal visited our building during their trip to Barcelona and witnessed the multidisciplinary work of our Foundation.
The Marshall Memorial Fellowship has been carried out for since 1982. Each year, this prestigious program invites 75 young leaders in the US and Europe to a 24-day transatlantic visit to the other continent. Barcelona was once again in the European route, as the economic, scientific, politic and cultural capital it is.
In the framework of our collaboration with Barcelona Global, the Pasqual Maragall Foundation was one of their stops in order to get to know first-hand the city’s potential and its knowledge networks. The Fellows had the opportunity to learn about our fundraising tasks and social awareness work, as well as the biomedical research that is being developed in our facilities.
This is yet one more little step in our goal of becoming a global model in the challenge of finding solutions to the problem of Alzheimer’s disease and related dementia.
