The Pasqual Maragall Foundation building has been selected as one of the 5 finalists in the first category (“A competitive and intelligent Europe”) of the awards Regiostars 2023, a competition organised by the Directorate General for Regional and Urban Policies of the European Commission.

The awards are given to the best projects funded by the European Union (EU) that demonstrate impact and inclusion in regional development. The construction and equipment of the Foundation's headquarters, located at 30 Wellington Street in Barcelona, have been co-financed with European Regional Development Funds (ERDF) from Catalonia through the call for singular infrastructure projects, promoted by the Department of Research and Universities of the Generalitat.

The finalist projects will be evaluated by a jury during the European Week of Regions and Cities of the EU, which takes place in Brussels from 9 to 12 October. In addition, the organisation offers the possibility to participate to everyone through the Public Choice Award. Starting on October 14, voting will be open to all citizens. on the contest websiteThe winners will be announced at a ceremony in Ostrava, Czech Republic, on 16 November.
