The Pasqual Maragall Foundation has launched the initiative “Learn about the research”, a series of video interviews on the studies, projects and lines of research of the Barcelonaβeta Brain Research Center (BBRC), its research center, to raise awareness of the multiple areas of research related to Alzheimer's disease.
Learn about the research publishes new content every two months that explains the center's projects and programs to bring science content to the population in an informative format and with language that is understandable for all types of audiences. Currently, video interviews are available about Alpha Sleep, a cross-sectional study with the aim of delving into the relationship between sleep disorders and the onset or progression of Alzheimer's, with Dr. Oriol Grau; or Hebe, whose objective is to identify brain rejuvenation factors circulating in the blood to be used as therapeutic targets for the disease, led by Dr. Marc Suárez-Calvet. You can also find the study of the brain through mini-brains, personalized organoids of human brains, with Dr. Laura García González; or the genetic architecture of neurodegenerative processes, a study to quantify the genetic predisposition of certain people to these processes, with Dr. Natàlia Vilor-Tejedor.
In the coming months, studies will be released validating the effectiveness and impact of the caregiver support programs on the mental health and well-being of participants. All videos of the initiative can be found at this youtube playlist.
