A naval engineer from the Escuela Técnica Superior de Ingenieros Navales in Madrid and with an MBA from IESE, he has been CEO and president of Applus (2006-2014), CEO of ITP, general director of Gamesa, dean of the Official College of Naval and Ocean Engineers of Spain, president of the Port Authority of Barcelona and president of the Social Council of the University of Barcelona. He has received two Crosses for Naval Merit and one for Aeronautical Merit. He also holds the Grand Cross of the Order of Alfonso X the Wise and was named Best Nautical Sportsman in 1978. He is currently an advisor to the president of Gamesa, a director of several companies and second vice president of the Royal Academy of Engineering.
