We joined forces with AFAGA to promote research and awareness projects on Alzheimer's.

The Association of Relatives of Patients with Alzheimer's and other Dementias of Galicia (AFAGA) and the Foundation have signed today, at the AFAGA Alzheimer CIAG Innovation Center in Vigo, an agreement framework collaboration agreement for the joint development of actions and projects in favor of the people with neurodegenerative dementias, as well as that of their family and convivial environment.

This agreement lays the foundation for the joint participation of AFAGA and the Foundation in the design and execution of research projects focused on improving prevention, diagnosis, and clinical follow-up for those affected. We will launch community awareness and training campaigns, psychoeducational activities for caregivers, and outreach activities in various areas such as brain health, the impact of Alzheimer's and other dementias, biomedical research projects, support for autonomy and care, and cognitive inclusion.

In addition, we will join forces to contribute to the destigmatization of dementia, promoting the participation of people with cognitive impairment in society and the vindication of their rights. We will also collaborate on actions with health and social authorities to improve the approach to Alzheimer's and defend the rights of those affected and their caregivers.

"At the Foundation, we research to find an effective cure for Alzheimer's disease, but we also work to change its social perception and destigmatize it. Therefore, we are excited to begin this collaboration with an association with which we share the goal of finding solutions for people with Alzheimer's and their families", has stood out Cristina Maragall, president of the Foundation.

For its part, Juan Carlos Rodríguez, president of AFAGA, has pointed out that "this agreement represents a further step for AFAGA in our collaboration with the Foundation, with which we share goals and objectives, to delve deeper into the field of research and innovation on Alzheimer's and other neurodegenerative dementias and to launch joint initiatives and projects. It's very important for us to work with the entire ecosystem involved in addressing longevity, from awareness and prevention to intervention."
