The Pasqual Maragall Foundation wins the REGIOSTARS 2023 award

The Directorate General for Regional and Urban Policies of the European Commission has awarded the REGIOSTARS Awards 2023 in the category «A competitive and intelligent Europe» to the Pasqual Maragall Foundation building. The Manager of the Foundation and the BBRC, Glòria Oliver, collected the award at the ceremony, which took place in the city of Ostrava (Czech Republic) on 16 November.

These European awards, which have been given since 2008, recognise excellence, inclusiveness and impact on regional development based on projects financed with European funds. This year, it is the first time that a Catalan proposal has won the REGIOSTARS awards.

On behalf of the Pasqual Maragall Foundation, Glòria Oliver wished to highlight the pride that our organisation feels in having pioneering scientific infrastructures to continue fighting Alzheimer's and other neurodegenerative diseases. The building also has an innovative architectural design, a focus on energy efficiency and sustainability and a commitment to accessibility.

The awards for “A Green Europe”, “A Connected Europe”, “A Social and Inclusive Europe”, “A Europe Closer to Citizens” and “Theme of the Year (European Year of Skills 2023)” were also presented at the event.
