The Hospital del Mar Research Institute and the Pasqual Maragall Foundation receive support from the Marina Walktrail for research into Alzheimer's and other dementias

The ninth edition of the Marina Walktrail, organised by the Friends of Hospital del Mar Foundation and the Pasqual Maragall Foundation, has raised more than 15 thousand euros to boost the research work of the HMAR Research Institute Joint Unit and the Barcelonaβeta Brain Research Center.

The Nordic walking event of the Friends of Hospital del Mar Foundation and the Pasqual Maragall Foundation has raised more than 15 thousand euros to support joint research into Alzheimer's and other dementias. This donation will be used to promote the research projects of the researchers attached to the unit created thanks to the Strategic alliance between the Hospital del Mar research institute and the Barcelonaβeta Brain Research Center (BBRC), research centre of the Pasqual Maragall Foundation.

The Barcelona Biomedical Research Park (PRBB) was the venue for the presentation of the solidarity cheque to the director of the Hospital del Mar Research Institute, Dr. Joaquín Arribas, and to the general director of the Pasqual Maragall Foundation and the BBRC, Dr. Arcadi Navarro. Dr. Arribas wanted to highlight “the path of collaboration that we have started, which We trust that they will bear fruit for people with these pathologies", while Dr. Navarro added that the Marina Walktrail is "a very important collaboration, the beginning of something, we are very excited to participate".

The latest edition of the Nordic walk for charity had a record participation of more than 700 people. For the first time, the event was organised jointly by the Amics del Hospital del Mar Foundation and the Pasqual Maragall Foundation.
