The Foundation
We are working to defeat this disease and achieve a future in which aging is associated with positive experiences.
New book explores scientific and research advances in the prevention and treatment of Alzheimer's disease.
In 2025, 9.1 million people will suffer from Alzheimer's and other dementias in the European Union. With the ageing of the population, this figure will reach 14.3 million by 2050.
The research grant has been awarded to the study led by Dr. Jose Vicente Sánchez Mut, researcher at the CSIC-UMH Institute of Neurosciences in Alicante.
He/she will be responsible for designing and organizing the activities of the Research Management Office, including the search for competitive funding, the application for scholarships and projects and, in general, the comprehensive management of research projects with researchers.
More than 170 people attended the informative session we organised on Alzheimer's prevention at the Hotel Reconquista in Oviedo, led by Dr. Chema González de Echávarri.
More than 250 people attend the conference on Alzheimer's and other neurodegenerative diseases, organized by the Pasqual Maragall Foundation and the Association of Relatives of Alzheimer's Patients of Burgos.
Dr. Carolina Minguillon will be the Director of the new Strategic Research Funding Office and Dr. David Vállez has been appointed Director of the Neuroimaging Platform of the Barcelonaβeta Brain Research Center (BBRC).
Speakers and conference attendees were able to share insights into achievements, innovations and best practices in dementia research, care and policy.
The Pasqual Maragall Foundation has joined forces with various Alzheimer's organisations in Catalonia to demand that dementia be a priority in public policies.
Both entities have signed a collaboration agreement for the implementation of energy saving and efficiency measures.
Monika Hencsey, Director of Budget, Communication and General Affairs at the Directorate General for Regional and Urban Policy, led the delegation that visited the Foundation building.
We managed to raise more than €9,000 thanks to the support of companies and citizens who wanted to contribute to Alzheimer's research.
