Context
The Pasqual Maragall Foundation was created in 2008 with the mission of promoting and developing excellent biomedical research. The Foundation is fully committed to being decisive in providing global solutions to the problem of Alzheimer's disease and related dementias, as well as to raising social awareness to ensure that scientific support for these challenges achieves the appropriate priority. The Foundation's research is carried out at the Barcelonaßeta Brain Research Center (BBRC), a research center established with the participation of Pompeu Fabra University and "la Caixa" Foundation.
The vision of the Pasqual Maragall Foundation is to achieve a future without Alzheimer's, within the framework of active and healthy ageing that is associated with positive experiences and free of problems and cognitive decline. To this end, BBRC research is aimed at the primary and secondary prevention of Alzheimer's disease, which is possible thanks to the participation of thousands of people who voluntarily contribute to scientific studies to ensure that, in the near future, there will be far fewer people with the disease.
The Pasqual Maragall Foundation is a private, non-profit organization. Its financial resources come from philanthropic donations from entities and companies, as well as from an extensive network of more than 90,000 members who contribute to funding research. The Pasqual Maragall Foundation is a young, established and growing foundation that, together with the BBRC, currently has more than 250 members. The scientific team is made up of research staff and professionals from the areas of medicine, biology, psychology and nursing, among others. It also has transversal areas of maintenance, IT, finance, purchasing, human resources, communication and fundraising. All in a dynamic environment, in which continuous challenges are part of the Foundation's scope of work.
Position Description
The Pasqual Maragall Foundation is looking for a Head of Major Individual Donors and Middle Donors to join the Strategic Partnerships Area, within the Fundraising team. This person will play a crucial role in the launch and leadership of a new high strategic value donor programme, focused on the development and consolidation of these segments, which will significantly contribute to the sustainability of our projects. He or she will report to the Head of Strategic Partnerships with the aim of increasing the number of large individual donors, medium donors (+500 euros/year) and charitable donors as well as the frequency and amount of their contributions. The Strategic Partnerships Area is part of the fundraising team, currently made up of 20 people, which fosters a collaborative and dynamic environment.
Main tasks
Strategy:
- Actively collaborate in the design and execution of the business strategy for high-value donor segments, in close coordination with the Head of Strategic Alliances.
- Conduct quantitative and qualitative analysis of current donor portfolios, assessing profiles, donation patterns and results of previous campaigns. Use this data to identify and profile potential new donors/teachers, both within and outside our database.
- Design and execute value propositions and acquisition campaigns from start to finish, including defining segments, planning content and selecting contact channels.
- Develop specific communication cycles for the different segments, defining the main touch points and channels, and with a high level of personalization and focus on humanizing the relationship.
- Build, cultivate and maintain personalized relationships, ensuring proactive communication and appropriate acknowledgements across multiple channels.
- Record all necessary information in the CRM to enable effective and timely communication with different donors, thus ensuring the maximum development of their potential.
- Define and implement integrated strategies to facilitate and promote the transition of donors from the medium-value segment to the large donor segment.
- Define and implement a phased Solidarity Testament strategy to promote the conversion of interested leads into announced testators.
- Design a dashboard for donor prospects and portfolios that facilitates management and allows for comprehensive monitoring of results and key business indicators to ensure the growth, development and retention of the different segments.
- Continuously innovate, proposing improvements and new ways of attracting donors based on average donation levels and potential legatees.
Teamwork:
- Collaborate with other areas of the fundraising department (data, loyalty), the Foundation (communications, finance, legal, etc.) and external suppliers, to ensure the success of the campaigns/actions carried out on the segments.
- Identify and work with key people within the Foundation and the BBRC to develop an efficient strategy for prospecting and presenting projects to potential major donors that are strategic for the organization.

Characteristics of the position
- Immediate incorporation.
- Work center in Barcelona.
- Contract: permanent, with a 6-month trial period.
- Schedule: full-time workday of 1,618 hours/year and 38 hours per week.
- Hybrid work model (teleworking + in-person) and flexible hours.
- Availability to travel.
- Salary level according to the Foundation's remuneration policy and in accordance with the candidate's experience.
Qualifications and experience
- University degree in Business Administration, Communication, Public Relations, Marketing, Business Studies or similar, or equivalent experience.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in similar positions in non-profit or private sector organizations, with proven results in fundraising.
- Experience in relationship marketing, persuasive writing, and development and presentation of creative proposals/actions.
- Knowledge in executing multi-channel campaigns, organizing events and retaining donors.
- Analytical capacity to measure the profitability and effectiveness of the campaigns or actions carried out.
- Languages: Catalan and Spanish (native level), and English (high).
- Mastery of data analysis tools, segmentation, email marketing, as well as the Office package.
