We received a visit from Maite Barrera, former president of the Barcelona Global association and a leading figure in the field of economic and social promotion of the city. During her visit, Barrera met with Gloria Oliver, deputy general director of the Foundation, who has made a presentation of the main objectives of the entity, as well as the research, social action and dissemination projects that we promote to advance the fight against Alzheimer's and other neurodegenerative diseases.
Maite Barrera is the founder of the company Bluecap and a member of the Executive Committee of the Globant group, a technology unicorn listed on the New York (NYSE). She is a member of the board of trustees of the Esade Foundation and the Princess of Girona Foundation.
As president of Barcelona Global, a position she held until recently, Barrera led multiple initiatives to foster economic growth and the international projection of Barcelona. Her work has been key to attracting investment and talent to the city, reinforcing its position as a leading innovative and cultural centre.
Barrera's visit reflects the shared commitment to research and innovation to generate a positive social impact, an area in which we continue to work with dedication to find solutions for Alzheimer's and other dementias.
