We travel to Geneva to participate in the 34th Alzheimer Europe Conference “New Horizons: Innovating for Dementia” from 8 to 10 October, organised by Alzheimer Europe in Geneva. This event brings together Experts from around the world in the field of Alzheimer's and neurodegenerative diseases to address care for affected people and their environment, as well as the latest advances in research and treatment of the disease, among others.
Over the three days, we presented different projects that we developed at the Foundation and our research center, the Barcelonaβeta Brain Research Center.
The Dr. Nina Gramunt, neuropsychologist expert in training and dissemination of the Foundation, has shown the main results extracted from the survey "Attitudes and perceptions of the Spanish population on Alzheimer's", published in 2023. For its part, the Dr Carolina Minguillón, director of the Strategic Research Funding Office, explained the scholarship project Pasqual Maragall Researchers Programme and how it drives the search for excellence in Alzheimer's and other dementias, we have also announced the winners of the latest call.
Regarding care and support for people affected by Alzheimer's and those who care for them, Desiree Piromalli, manager of the Social Area, has presented a poster on the study and analysis of the needs of caregivers of family members with Alzheimer's and the perceived risks related to the use of digital tools, based on the resources we offer from the Foundation.
On the last day of the congress, Eva Nebot, director of the Area of Incidence and Institutional Relations, has brought the informative and cultural project of the Brain Film Fest, which we carry out to promote knowledge and awareness about the brain and its disorders. And the Dr Karine Fauria, director of the Scientific Coordination Unit, has given details of excellent research projects that provide science, innovation and value.
With our participation in Geneva, we reinforce our commitment to scientific research and international collaboration to address Alzheimer's from different perspectives.
