General preventive powers

Designate one or more persons or institutions to act on behalf of your interests. This document is always revocable by the grantor.

You can set a control and state the reasons for which the power would be extinguished. It is effective during life and extinguishes with the death of the person. There are two types of general preventive powers: valid only in the case of disability and valid from the moment it is granted, even in the case of disability.

To request them, you must go to your notary.

Advance directives

Express and convey instrucions in your living will for carrying out or not carrying out certain therapeutic procedures or for applying euthanasia if the legal requirements for this are met. This document is always revocable by the applicant.

It is a good idea to register your living will so that it is recorded in your clinical history in the Public Health Service. In this way, medical teams can know and respect your wishes.

If you wish, you can request it from your notary. You can also prepare a private document signed in front of three witnesses who are not related to you or have no financial ties to you, which you must present at an official registry.

Notaries can advise you.

Notaries are both legal professionals and civil servants who work to provide you with the preventive legal security provided for in the Spanish Constitution, with complete independence. Notaries will advise you and ensure that your procedures comply with your needs and the law.

Make your will endure

Determine the destination of your material assets according to your last will and testament. The will is always revocable by the grantor and only becomes active at the time of the death of the signer.

If you wish, you can include the Pasqual Maragall Foundation in your will to extend your commitment to a future without Alzheimer's to future generations, without harming the legitimate inheritance of your heirs.
